Adobe’s Firefly Trained on AI-Generated Images Despite Ethical Claims
Adobe’s Firefly, the latest entrant in the burgeoning field of AI image generators, was purported to set a new standard in ethical AI practices. However, recent investigations by Bloomberg reporter Rachel Metz have revealed inconsistencies in Adobe’s public statements concerning the training of its AI model.
The investigation unearthed that contrary to Adobe’s initial disclosures, Firefly was trained, in part, on AI-generated images. Some of these images were sourced from AI art generator MidJourney.

Tech YouTuber Calls Humane AI Pin "The Worst Product I've Ever Reviewed"
In a blistering video review, popular tech YouTuber Marques Brownlee utterly shreds the newly released Humane AI Pin. He declared it "the worst product I've ever reviewed."
Billed as a cutting-edge wearable AI assistant, this $700 device with a $24 monthly subscription fee promised futuristic features like voice commands, camera assistance, and even a hand-projected interface. However, Brownlee decimates the AI Pin on virtually every front - sluggish performance, frequent inaccuracies, abysmal battery life, a barely usable camera, and an overall frustrating user experience plagued by constant friction

How Two Teachers Use AI to Build Lessons and Save Time
AI is shaking things up at John Street School in Franklin Square, New York. Teachers Janice Donaghy and Jean D'Aurio are using AI tools like Canva, Diffit, and ChatGPT to whip up entire lessons. Stuff that would normally take them hours - writing passages, creating activities, differentiating materials for different levels.
“Classroom preparation goes from hours to seconds” when using AI, said D’Aurio. In the past, the co-teaching pair had created lesson plans by scouring the school’s literacy closet to sift through printed materials, perusing the Teachers Pay Teachers online marketplace and exploring Instagram or TikTok accounts

Google Just Equipped YouTube and Gmail Advertisers with Generative AI
Last year, Google launched the so-called Demand Gen campaign to help advertisers craft better visual touch points with their targeted audiences. Demand Gen is now getting generative image tools to let YouTube, Discover, and Gmail advertisers create images with text prompts.
The tool is powered by Google AI and can turn your text prompts into images. This functionality seems familiar if you've previously used AI chatbots like ChatGPT or Gemini. The process is also pretty straightforward. Click "Generate images" to choose images for your Google Ads campaign. Then, write a description of your desired image. The tool can produce various versions in just a few seconds.

Tech Exec Predicts ‘AI Girlfriends’ Will Create $1B Business
Tech executive Greg Isenberg predicts that AI-generated virtual girlfriends are on the verge of becoming a billion-dollar industry. He shared with Yahoo Tech his encounter with a 24-year-old man in Miami who claimed to spend an astonishing $10,000 per month on "AI girlfriends."
The Miami man enthusiastically expressed his preference for AI girlfriends, explaining that he enjoys the comfort and customization options they provide, much like how some people find enjoyment in playing video games.
Isenberg believes that it's only a matter of time before someone creates an AI version of Match Group, the parent company behind popular dating apps like Tinder and Hinge.

Adobe Premiere Pro is Getting Generative AI Video Tools
Adobe is working on a generative AI video model for its Firefly family that will bring new tools to its Premiere Pro video editing platform. These new Firefly tools — alongside some proposed third-party integrations with Runway, Pika Labs, and OpenAI’s Sora models — will allow Premiere Pro users to generate video and add or remove objects using text prompts (just like Photoshop’s Generative Fill feature) and extend the length of video clips.
Unlike many of Adobe’s previous Firefly-related announcements, no release date — beta or otherwise — has been established for the company’s new video generation tools, only that they’ll roll out “this year.”
