Adobe Has a Bunch of New AI Tools

The design software giant Adobe unveiled a dozen new generative AI tools and capabilities Tuesday, and also revealed a partnership with Microsoft to expand the audience for its AI offerings. The moves, announced at Adobe’s conference in Las Vegas, signal the company’s aggressive push to integrate generative AI across its product portfolio.

Among the announcements was GenStudio, an app that lets users create content with generative AI, manage brand assets like logos, track campaign performance, and streamline workflows all in one place — instead of jumping between multiple software tools. Adobe also introduced a new generative AI assistant that can do things like answer technical questions, automate tasks, and simulate outcomes for business customers.

Scotland Distillery Using SmokeDNAi Technology to Create Limited Edition Whisky 

For two years, Diageo analyzed various Scotch whiskies using machine algorithms.

The alcohol beverage company invested $230 million into a portfolio of whisky tourism projects. A portion of this lump sum was dedicated to the exploration of whisky maturation using technology called SmokeDNAi.

Using SmokeDNAi, teams tested and analyzed the flavor profiles and mouthfeel of non-identical twin whiskies distilled in different casks – one remnant and one original. The pair of rare whiskies is named Port Ellen Gemini, and each bottle costs $50,000.

World Poker Tour Bets on AI Dubbing of Tournaments for Latin America

The World Poker Tour (WPT) is betting on AI-powered dubbing tools under a partnership with Papercup, a London-based AI dubbing company, that will replace WPT’s traditional localization methods in Latin America. Papercup will work with the World Poker Tour to translate 184 of the franchise’s 44-minute-long episodes into Brazilian Portuguese, the companies said. 

“This will amount to nearly 140 hours of content and enable viewers across South America to access WPT’s latest shows and tournaments in their native language quicker than ever before,” they explained.

Apple’s Big AI News Is Coming — And We Likely Just Got A Date For It

Waiting for Apple Inc.’s big artificial-intelligence announcement? We seem to have just gotten a date for it. The company plans to host its annual WWDC developer event beginning June 10, which is when Chief Executive Tim Cook will give his keynote address. 

Apple has been teasing a coming AI announcement, and many have been expecting that it would come during WWDC. Greg Joswiak, the company’s senior vice president of marketing, nodded to that effect in a post on X, formerly known as Twitter. The event should be “Absolutely Incredible,” he said.
