Stability AI has unveiled the latest generation of its music creation platform with the ability to produce a three-minute long ‘song’ track.
Stable Audio 2.0 is the new edition of the software which allows users to turn a text prompt into an extended piece of audio. With a maximum three-minute form, the standard length of a regular song, Stable Audio will produce an intro, main track, and an ending to the music.

Dove Pledges to Never Represent ‘Real Bodies’ with AI in Advertising
Dove, a beauty brand known for its 20-year marketing campaign around showcasing “real bodies,” has taken the initiative a step forward in the age of artificial intelligence.
Dove announced Tuesday that it would never use AI-generated imagery to represent “real bodies” in its advertising. Rather, the company will continue to use real photos of women, while also promoting more diverse AI-generated images based on prompts about beautiful women.

OpenAI Transcribed Over a Million Hours of YouTube Videos to Train GPT-4
OpenAI which, desperate for training data, reportedly developed its Whisper audio transcription model to get over the hump. And used it to transcribe over a million hours of YouTube videos to train GPT-4.
That’s according to The New York Times, which reports that the company knew this was legally questionable but believed it to be fair use. OpenAI president Greg Brockman was personally involved in collecting videos that were used, the Times writes.

Google Partners with Bayer on New AI Product for Radiologists
Google Cloud and the German health-care company Bayer on Tuesday announced they are building an artificial intelligence-powered platform that aims to help radiologists diagnose patients and work through cases more quickly.
The platform’s generative AI flags anomalies within images for radiologists to look at, and it can also pull up relevant information from that patient’s medical history, Thomas Kurian, CEO of Google Cloud, told CNBC.

Microsoft to Invest $2.9bn in Japan Data Centers Amid AI Boom
Microsoft will invest $2.9 billion in data centers in Japan by 2025, its biggest investment in the country, President Brad Smith told Nikkei in an exclusive interview, in response to Tokyo's push for more computing power for artificial intelligence. Smith said the adoption of AI, and investments in domestic capability, has become "a critical national priority for governments around the world."
Generative AI Isn’t Ubiquitous in the Business World—at Least Not Yet
ChatGPT and other forms of generative artificial intelligence have experienced meteoric growth, but many businesses are hesitant to rush headlong into the technology.
Tobacco company Reynolds American, for instance, is taking a go-slow approach, testing gen AI in a limited capacity. It is experimenting with using AI to improve analysis of large data sets, but not in high-risk finance applications or in customer-facing roles, said Chief Information Officer Aaron Gwinner.
Intel Unveils Latest AI Chip as Nvidia Competition Heats Up
Intel unveiled its latest AI chip, called Gaudi 3, as chipmakers rush to produce semiconductors that can train and deploy big AI models.
Intel says the new Gaudi 3 chip is over twice as power-efficient as and can run AI models one-and-a-half times faster than Nvidia’s H100 GPU. It also comes in different configurations like a bundle of eight Gaudi 3 chips on one motherboard or a card that can slot into existing systems.
