90% of Marketers Are Missing this Huge AI Opportunity

It's not only ChatGPT. All chatbots from Google’s Bard to Claude 2 make up sources, facts, and statistics out of thin air. The worst part is they spit them back at you with complete conviction.

The Future of Product Photography Is Here

See this image? It wasn't shot by professional photographers in a giant studio with expensive cameras. It was generated 100% using the AI art tool Midjourney by AI designer Salma Boukarr.

Up until now, the barriers to having photos of this quality for your brand were high. Thanks to AI, small businesses can quickly and cheaply generate stunning product images with just a few prompts. Now anyone can start an e-commerce business and have professional looking images right from the start and on a lean budget.

For marketers, think about the endless variations of product photos you'll be able to test for your ads. With tools like Midjourney, you can generate hundreds of unique backgrounds, angles, lighting, and compositions to A/B test on your product pages and ads.

And you'll be able to do it lightning fast. No more waiting around weeks or months for new creative to come in from an outside agency. This is unlimited creative on demand. Salma documented exactly how to make a product shot like this for your own brand.

Prompt of the Week

An AI prompt for marketers is a text input designed to guide an AI like ChatGPT in generating creative marketing ideas and copy. It helps you leverage AI to enhance your campaigns and decision-making processes.

This week's prompt comes courtesy of Dave Katague. Dave is a video strategist and filmmaker who has worked with companies like Uber and Amazon.

Dave's prompt allows you to use any chatbot to reverse engineer a sales letter or ad. In seconds you can gain deep insight into the copywriting and persuasion techniques used in the world's best offers.

By having the AI comprehensively analyze a sales letter or ad, this prompt reveals the specific rhetorical devices, emotional triggers, and psychological tactics used to make it successful.

💡
I'd like you to analyze an effective Sales Letter for linguistic and copywriting techniques that make it persuasive. I'll start by sharing the Sales Letter content, and I'll provide further instructions afterward.

[Please paste the Sales Letter Content here]

As an experienced linguist and copywriter, your task is to conduct a detailed analysis of the provided text.

Your goal is to uncover the structural and emotional journey designed for the reader.

This analysis should encompass the author's intention, the driving force behind the message, the emotional impact on the reader, the persuasive techniques employed, and the expected behavior of the intended audience.

To present your findings, please format the response in a table with the following columns: 'Excerpt Number, 'Extracted Dialogue; 'Persuasive Technique;

'Explanation of Technique,' 'Emotional Effect, and 'Intended Audience Behavior' I encourage you to provide comprehensive explanations for columns 3 to 6.

I realize this is a significant, complex, and perhaps difficult task, but l'd like you to take a crack at it anyway. Anything is possible when broken down and managed.

Then "think step by step".

Also keep in mind that there's a token limit. If you approach this limit, try to evenly distribute the content across multiple responses. Inform me with 'I'm nearing the token limit, would you like me to continue?' I will confirm, allowing you to extend the response until we complete the analysis. If this is clear, please proceed with the analysis.

Unraveling AI

Subscriber Submitted Question: "The common advice for writing effective chatbot prompts is to be as detailed as possible, include examples, ect. Generally the longer the better. Is this true for AI art prompts as well when using tools like Midjourney?

Our Answer: It's not. With AI art tools you actually don't want to make your prompts too long. The AI can only focus on so much information at once. If you give it a super long prompt with lots of details, the AI will probably just ignore most of what you wrote.

The best prompts for AI art are short and simple. Just a few sentences is usually enough. Pick 1-2 main ideas you want the art to focus on. Adding a couple examples can help too. But don't write a whole paragraph trying to explain everything. Keep it brief and let the AI fill in the details.

Tool to Try

StoryFolder - Recommended by the great Dave Katague, this tool is a cheat-code for marketers. Ever see a super cool ad and thought, "I wish I could make something like that?" Well, with StoryFolder, you can.

It lets you take apart the best ads out there, see what makes them tick, and then use those learnings for your own. Imagine being able to see all the cool parts of a video, like a puzzle, and then making your own puzzle using those pieces.

StoryFolder allows you to closely analyze each shot in a video, picking apart all the different elements and techniques being used. As you progress shot-by-shot through a video, you can carefully examine aspects like the voiceover scripting, paying attention to the messaging, repetition, and rhetorical devices. You can study the physical action on screen, following exactly how the subjects and objects move moment-to-moment.

You can track how the narrative and emotions shift from one shot to the next. You can categorize camera movements, like pans, zooms, and tracking shots, and consider how they impact the feel of the video.

In a recent Genesis training, Dave demo'd the tool for members using one of his actual ads. He goes into how simple StoryFolder is to use and how it allows you to swipe the most effective video marketing tactics and strategies. Check it out below.

OpenAI gives ChatGPT a voice

ChatGPT is evolving into much more than a text-based search engine, with OpenAI announcing it’s adding new voice and image-based smarts to the mix.

For instance, a user will be able to verbally ask ChatGPT to make up a bedtime story on the spot, with a few vocal prompts to guide the narrative. Or the user can simply ask it a question, with ChatGPT giving its response in spoken word form.

Elsewhere, ChatGPT users will also be able to search for answers using images, for instance uploading a picture of something and asking ChatGPT to explain what it is, or to provide instructions for completing a goal.
